Perhaps the most famous of all the tunnels inside the Rock are the Great Siege tunnels, of which, the defeated Commander of the French and Spanish troops commented, "These works are worthy of the Romans".

Though Gibraltar is only 2.5 square miles, there are altoghether 50 miles of tunnels inside the Rock.
