Airport Terminal

Extract from the Government of Gibraltar press release - 4th Septmeber 2008

The Cordoba Agreement provides for a single Gibraltar air terminal, with all air terminal functions to be in Gibraltar (ie security, check-in, baggage handling, boarding and all air side apron activities) under our sole jurisdiction and control. There will be a small part of the terminal building on the Spanish side of the frontier fence to accommodate the Spanish officals who must be on that side when carrying out advance Schengen entry check or defferred Shengen exit checks. As is known those checks, for which the passenger remains on the Gibraltar side of the frontier, will be carried out on passengers travelling to or from a Spanish airport, who enter or exit Gibraltar Airport via its Gibraltar entrance/exit.

News on Spanish TV - 25th January 2010

Good morning, the Mayor of La Linea met some days ago with representatives of the Ministry of Exterior and today the meeting will be repeated, it will be here
in La Linea, not only with the responsible for Exterior but also with AENA, the Spanish Airports and Air Navigation, who will be in charge of the construction of
this airport terminal in La Linea de la Concepcion.

That is the result of Cordoba Agreement, the Tripartite Forum composed by the UK, Spain and Gibraltar.

The La Linea Mayor, Alejandro Sanchez considers that this project can be very good for the municipality from an economical inversion point of view and above
all from the increased labour employment.

(It is obvious that there are differences between the explanation given by the Gibraltar Government on it's press release on the 4th September 2008
and the news as broadcast on Spanish TV on the 25th January 2010.)
